The Community Council is pleased to report that Buccleuch Estates have applied to Dumfries & Galloway Council for permission to prune the trees in Drumlanrig Street and East & West Morton Streets. Assuming D&GC grants permission, it is hoped that the works, whichwill be carried out by Richard Gauld, Tree Specialist (www.richardgauldtreespecialist.co.uk ) will commence round about 16March and last about three days. Inevitably, this will cause some disruption, particularly to parking; but we hope most people will agree that it will be worth it to get this long overdue work done.
